Did you know fresh mangoes off the tree can be poisonous? 😱Yes! My gardening gloves are more than just a cute aesthetic-- Unwashed mangoes have urushiol on their skin and leaves. Urushiol is the same natural oil that you find on poison ivy, poison oak, and poison sumac. When you buy mangoes at the grocery store, they've already been washed, but off the tree, you risk getting a rash. So here's the PSA: Wear gloves when harvesting mangoes! Then give them a good scrub in the sink before handling to eat.
