You’ll be helping deliver and set up bounce houses and waterslides, cleaning equipment, and working outside in the heat.

I’m looking for someone who:

💪 Isn’t afraid of physical work

⏰ Shows up when they say they will

🫡 Takes pride in doing things the right way

This would be a great fit for a high school or college student, athlete, or anyone looking to make extra money a few hours each week.

💙 May Party With Purpose Winner: The Bender Family 💙

Last week we had the privilege of serving another incredible family through our Party With Purpose initiative. The Bender family.

In March of 2023, shortly after relocating to North Carolina from Idaho, their son Lane was diagnosed with Fanconi anemia, a rare genetic disorder that affects the body’s ability to produce healthy blood cells and repair damaged DNA.

Just one month later, Lane was in complete bone marrow failure and requiring blood transfusions.

After a worldwide search for a donor, the best match turned out to be his younger brother.

In preparation for his transplant, Lane endured a week of chemotherapy and radiation before receiving a bone marrow transplant on June 8, 2023.

What followed was two years of recovery filled with challenges no child should ever have to face.

The family nearly lost him three separate times.

Yet through it all, Lane kept fighting.

Today he is doing amazing.

His journey isn’t over. Fanconi anemia means he faces ongoing health challenges, countless appointments, and increased cancer risks throughout his life. He continues to be cared for by specialists at CHKD and Duke, and the road ahead will require incredible strength from both Lane and his family.

But if there’s one thing the Benders have chosen, it’s gratitude.

Despite the challenges they face, not only with Lane’s health but other chronic health issues within their family as well, they remain thankful for each day and continue to trust God through it all.

This is exactly why Party With Purpose exists.

Not because we can fix what families are going through.

But because every child deserves the chance to laugh, play, make memories, and simply be a kid.

We were honored to provide Lane and his family with a day filled with fun, smiles, and time together. While we brought the inflatable, they brought something even more powerful, a reminder to all of us to cherish every day we’ve been given.

💙 A few weeks ago, we had the honor of serving the Farrar family, our April Party With Purpose winners.

If you’ve followed their story, you know they’ve faced more challenges over the past several years than most families will face in a lifetime. Through medical struggles, surgeries, cancer, and countless obstacles, they continue to smile, lean on their faith, and pour into others.

For two days, we had the privilege of setting up one of our waterslides for their family and watching the girls simply be kids.

At one point, one of the girls looked at me and said:

“This is the most fun day I’ve ever had.”

That moment stopped me in my tracks.

Because that’s why we do this.

Many people who haven’t walked through incredibly difficult seasons don’t always realize the impact those hardships can have on children. No matter how hard we try as parents to shield them, they still feel it. Their day-to-day life is different. Birthdays, holidays, family time, and even simple moments can look very different than what most of us take for granted.

That’s where I believe we, as a community, can step in.

Sometimes bringing joy to a child isn’t about solving every problem. It’s about giving them a chance to laugh, play, make memories, and just be a kid for a little while.

Watching those girls race down the slide, laugh together, and enjoy every minute reminded me why we keep pushing forward with Party With Purpose.

When life gets hard for me, families like the Farrars inspire me to keep going. Their strength, resilience, and ability to keep smiling through the storms is something I won’t forget.

Riverfront Rentals is growing, and we’re looking for a couple part-time team members to join us.

This position will include cleaning inflatables, helping with deliveries, setups, and takedowns. Hours will vary, but we’re looking for someone available for at least a few hours each week, whether on weekends or weekdays.

We’re looking for someone who:

✅ Is dependable and shows up when they say they will

✅ Is physically strong and not afraid of working in the heat

✅ Takes pride in their work and pays attention to details

✅ Enjoys serving others and being part of something bigger than themselves

At Riverfront Rentals, we’re about more than bounce houses. From our Party With Purpose program to community events and fundraisers, our goal is to create fun while making a positive impact in our community.

We have been a little quiet on the Party With Purpose front lately.

Life and business have been keeping us busy, but behind the scenes we’ve still been reading nominations, connecting with families, and planning what’s next.

Earlier this year, through our Party with Purpose initiative, we had the honor of celebrating an incredible little boy named Carter.

Many of you may remember his story.

Carter is a bright, resilient young boy facing significant ongoing medical challenges, and like so many Party with Purpose families, his journey didn’t end after one special day.

Recently, our community showed up in an amazing way during an emergency fundraiser when Carter needed urgent surgery. The prayers, donations, shares, and encouragement were incredible — and his family felt that love. ❤️

But the reality is… Carter’s road is still long.

Ongoing appointments. Medical travel. Missed work for his parents. Meals on the road. Lodging. Unexpected expenses. The kind of burdens most families should never have to carry alone.

💙 April Party With Purpose Winner: The Farrar Family 💙

It’s hard to put into words what the past six years have looked like for this family.

In 2020, Bobby was working as a Deputy when he was attacked, which ultimately led to 13 surgeries and a medical retirement in 2023. Through all of it, his wife has been the steady foundation of their family. Her selflessness and dedication are beyond admirable. Willing to give up anything to care for her husband and their children.

Their daughters are all on the spectrum and have faced challenges of their own. Their youngest underwent a life-changing skull and orbital surgery at just 8 months old… and by 9 months, she was walking.

Just as things felt like they were settling, they were hit with another storm. Bobby’s wife was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer.

This battle has been incredibly hard on her and on their girls.

Somewhere along the way, their family adopted a motto: “But we smile anyways.”

Even in the middle of this fight, she stayed strong. She didn’t shed a tear… until the moment they were sharing promising test results with their children, and their four-year-old looked at her and said, “Thank you for being brave.”

In the middle of everything, they’ve continued to lean on their faith, trusting God and enduring one day at a time.

We are incredibly honored to announce the Farrar family as our April Party With Purpose winner.

This is exactly why this initiative exists — to show up for families who have been carrying more than most people could imagine.
