Here’s a quick weekend cleaning plan using essential oils for a natural and efficient clean.
Supplies Needed:
Essential Oils:
Lavender (for calming)
Tea Tree (antimicrobial)
Lemon (degreaser and fresh scent)
Peppermint (refreshing)
Cleaning Tools:
Microfiber cloths
Spray bottles
Broom/Vacuum
Mop
Scrub brush
Cleaning Steps:
Declutter:
Spend 10-15 minutes tidying up each room. Put items back in their designated places.
Dusting:
Use a damp microfiber cloth with a few drops of lemon essential oil to dust surfaces. This not only attracts dust but also leaves a fresh scent.
Floors:
Hardwood/Tile: Mix water with white vinegar and add a few drops of peppermint essential oil. Mop the floors.
Carpet: Vacuum first and then sprinkle baking soda mixed with a few drops of lavender oil for freshness. Allow it to sit for 15 minutes before vacuuming again.
Kitchen:
For countertops, mix water with a teaspoon of tea tree oil in a spray bottle. Spray and wipe down surfaces.
Use lemon oil on stubborn stains or to freshen up the sink and appliances.
Bathrooms:
Mix equal parts of water and vinegar with a few drops of tea tree oil. Spray around the sink, counter, and toilet area, let it sit for a few minutes before wiping clean.
Add a drop of lavender oil to your toilet bowl cleaner for a soothing scent.
Final Touch:
Light a diffuser with lavender or citrus oils to uplift the mood and create a fresh atmosphere.
Bonus Tips:
Involve family members to make it quicker and more fun!
Set a timer for each task to keep the momentum going.
