Bumble & Sweet vintage-inspired handmade books, cards, and collage I have long had a love of all things vintage.

It’s something about the histories and stories they tell; whether it be the 1940’s rotary phone that once belonged to my grandmother, and now sits in our guest bedroom, or the pages from old magazines and offices that now sit on a collage or within a handmade book. I feel nostalgic for times in history during my life and before, and I am drawn to those things that define the look and feel of a par

ticular era. I am inherently an organizer of information and enjoy working with paper, so I have always been naturally drawn to the medium of collage. Six years ago, when I learned how to stitch books, I immediately fell in love with the possibilities and the process. It seemed then, as it does now, the perfect compliment to my collage work. At this point, I mostly create “containers” for others stories in the form of predominantly blank journals with vintage embellishments; though I do look forward to incorporating more of my own stories and stories inspired by others. I am also a big believer in the connections that are made and grow thru the use of the handwritten note. I have always been a letter writer, and over the years have come to understand that I am a dying breed. Whether you write letters or not, who doesn’t like to open their mailbox and find words sent from near or far? I am encouraged by all of the amazing cards and stationery that continue to come into the marketplace that there are others like me who have not lost the art of letter writing. I created the Bumble + Sweet stationery line as a way to be a part of this movement and share a little of my own voice.
