It started as a Christmas present to my mother but quickly grew into the "Christmas present to the World." This year being the 12 annual, I wanted to invite 12 other fine follicled fellas to help me with this wonderful process. We stop shaving our beards on Halloween, and then on December 16 we will all shave down to wonderful mustaches. This year we will unveil the Merry Mustaches at the & Holida
y party . Each participant is to come up with a theme for their stash". It is fine to trim your beard in the time between Halloween and the unveiling, but the idea is to give your mustache a head start on growing then when Dec. 16 comes BAM, you've got a nice stash out of nowhere! Please note, the invention of the Merry Mustache predates the debacle that is the Hipster mustache trend, and think of this as a stance in not letting them ruin the bad mustache. This year we are going to make this a contest & a fundraiser to benefit Studio & (Durango, CO). So once All Hallows eve hits, start growing that beard and when people ask what your up to, tell them about the Merry Mustache and how you are gunning for the title this year and that they can help sponsor your mustache. Will will be taking donations/sponsorships/whatever (think kids read-a-thon here)... so we can be gathering money during the beard growing stages. Then when we unveil the Merry Mustaches to the world at the & party, we will take pictures of each of us and put them on a jug and let people vote for the two weeks leading up to new years day. we will put the money we have gathered in the beard growing process in our respective jugs. Then the public will cast there vote by putting money in the jug with their favorite mustache on it. Now here's where the competition comes in, the winning mustache gets to keep the money that he and his mustache have earned, not to mention the respect and admiration of our fair community. The rest of the money will go to help & execute all the arty things that we have dreamed up. If you'd like to donate to any of these fine mustaches, please contact them via facebook and make arrangements to do so. Merry Mustache to All!
