It has been a while since I posted. The change to my basement has been a very positive one. I am still working out the bugs, such as our phone service is a little lacking, especially while I am in the basement working. Just leave a message or email me as [email protected] I am unable to answer the phone also when I am out delivering so it is easier for me to respond through emails

Also, PLEASE don't wait until the last minute. I am on the back end of UPS's day here. I don't get my deliveries until after 2pm. And with the dock strike, things could get delayed. Even if you don't know the engraving yet, at least order the items so I can make sure to get them.

Bittersweet. This is my last week at 62 West Main Street. My dad built this building in 1978 and after this week, I will be entrusting it with a new family to build their memories.

After this week, ALL orders will be taken via email: [email protected]. Arrangements will be made for drop offs and pick ups/deliveries through email.

I know these are big changes and it will take a little time to perfect the system. I hope that my customers will work with me while we move ahead with a new format. Change is not easy for any of us but I will do my best to make this change as seamless as possible. Thank you for your patience and understanding while we try to figure out this new way of doing business.

What better day than Small Business Saturday to post this. My dad started Specialty Trophies in 1972 out of the basement of my parents house. He grew enough to move the shop to the plaza at the corner of Rt. 13 and Highland Drive. By 1978, he bought the land and built the building that is now Specialty Trophy & Awards and The Station Creamery. For 50 years we have been a small family business and cater to our local organizations and sports teams.
Unfortunately, Covid 19 hit and we were shut down immediately as were most small businesses in our county. During that time, there were mass retirements, the loss of my mom, people started ordering their awards on line, and colleges started doing their awards in house. The loss of business and income forced us to look outside the box and we started The Station Creamery to try to make up for the lost income/business from Specialty Trophies.
I am sad to say, that after 3 years, we are unable to make enough money to cover the overhead of the building. Due to some chronic health issues and the lack of sales, I will be putting the building up for sale and moving Specialty Trophies back to my basement. We have come full circle.
I will keep everyone up to date on when the move will be finalized. We will arrange deliveries and pick up locations as we move forward. Please continue to email orders to [email protected] and I will continue to work hard to meet the needs of the community that has always been close to my heart.
So on this day, Small Business Saturday, remember that if you don't support your small businesses, there won't be any left.

For 50 years, we served the local community, we donated to different sports groups, organizations, local events and charities. We had softball teams, bowling teams, we sponsored bowling leagues and we were always a part of the local scene. So it is bittersweet today, as I lock the door, we have had to change to fit into today's world. We will no longer have walk ins. We will be on-line only.

Thank you for your support over the past 50 years.

After 50 years serving the local community, we will be closing our doors to the public on Friday, July 21 at 4pm. We are just another small business that is unable to recover from the COVID shutdowns. We will continue to be in business, however, orders will only be able to be taken through emails ([email protected]) and our website (www.drydenspecialtytrophy.com). We will no longer have a showroom to visit. (Our current showroom is available to rent if you would like to have a road front business on Rt. 13. Please private message me if interested.)
