There is something that is always so special about receiving a photo of a customer’s maps up on their walls. Thank you for the great living room pics and kind note, Sumner!

“Hey, Hunter!

Received the art prints in the mail this weekend and we are absolutely in love! They are the perfect addition to our home and we can't wait to enjoy them for years to come - and to add on as we travel to more national parks!

Thank you for creating such a beautiful print!”

Surprise!! Our Blue Ridge Parkway Print Series has been so popular, I decided to offer this look on a slightly different product 😊 I’m now offering a Blue Ridge Parkway Stainless Steel Vacuum Flask in my shop! Yes, 4% of profits still go back to the National Park Foundation. Using less plastic and supporting projects in our public lands — sounds like a great holiday gift to me! 🎄♥️

I hope you all have an amazing summer!! I will be doing a little more spending time outside with friends and family, rather than taking my tiny bit of free time this summer producing content for this Instagram account. But don’t y’all worry, my shop will continue to be up and running with a lot of new prints😊 This has been a great year for Visterra, I’ve sold more maps than 2019 and 2020 combined — I’m excited to see what that donation to the National Park Foundation will look like by the end of the year. ♥️ Remember every purchase gives 4% back to NPF!

Take care everyone. ☀️

And the Pacific Crest Trail Map is so here!! ✨Check it out through the link in my bio!

I decided to take a different approach to the icons for this map. Each of the 12 National Parks within California, Oregon, and Washington are featured as colorful badges to give you a glimpse into iconic places in the parks. I’m thinking about making each one into stickers to be sold separately as well... Let me know what you all think!

OH, did I mention that an 11-year old hiked this 2,659 mile trail from Mexico to Canada? If that doesn’t give you inspiration this Monday, I don’t know what will! 😊

Hey everyone! Currently doing a group project for one of my classes for my MBA Program (No, this actually has nothing to do with National Parks!). I would greatly appreciate it if you can take this quick survey to build data for my assignment. At the end of the survey, there will be a thank you gift provided :)

🕊️ HISTORY OF NATIONAL BIRD DAY 🦅⠀

Whether they’re your backyard’s star cardinal or the common pigeons that flock to and fro in the park, birds have always held a spot of fascination, love, and adoration in our hearts. There’s a certain awe that can only be tapped into when watching an eagle soar. Unfortunately, most birds are either endangered or protected, this is mostly due to habitat loss or illegal pet trade. ⠀

That’s why the Avian Welfare Coalition created National Bird Day: to raise awareness of the hardships and plights of these important animals and how we can initiate the change needed to create a healthier, more sustainable relationship with them.⠀

Birds are often considered living links to the past, being the closest-related animals to the evolution of dinosaurs. They’re often keystone species in the ecosystems, signifiers of its health and vitality. For example, the holes left behind by woodpeckers are often used as homes for a large variety of other animals. That means if woodpeckers were to run out of a food source – or out of the right kinds of trees – so, too, would all the animals dependent on their pecking skills. ⠀

While National Bird Day may be relatively new, having been founded in 2002, the adversity that birds have had to face is nothing novel to the animal kingdom. Just ask the Dodo, the Labrador Duck, or the Passenger Pigeon, considered sacred by many Native American tribes and often the subject of many works of American art until its demise. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

National Park Map Designs

OUR PRIDE, OUR RESPONSIBILITY

Our mission is as vast as the National Parks themselves, but it can perhaps be best defined by our name. The name Visterra is built from two Latin words: vis, meaning visible or related to sight; and terra, meaning land or territory. Together, they encapsulate and guide everything we aim to do as a company. Specifically, to make the grandeur of our awe-inspiring National Parks, our most prized territory, visible from above. To use the power of the visual — in the form of artistically designed prints — to give people a sense of the size, scale, and significance these parks have. To allow people to see, celebrate, and support their beauty without needing to travel (though, of course, feel free to travel — they’re worth it).

We focus on contemporary printed maps as our visual medium of choice, with each new print honoring one of the National Parks. Every map has its own unique, visually striking design, full of details that will capture your attention. You’ll see campsites, trails, main roads, and popular places within the park — and if you take a step back, you’ll see subtle outlines of the most common animals found in the park, animals that deserve celebration and protection as much as the land itself. Whether it hangs in your bedroom or dining room, your hallway or office, a Visterra map will always serve as a modern, eye-catching reminder of the importance of preserving our National Parks and their natural beauty. Each map is available as a printed poster, with canvas versions coming soon.

While honoring and raising awareness of the National Parks’ beauty is a noble goal, we don’t stop there. The maps will also benefit the National Parks, with a portion of each sale going directly to the National Park Foundation. The National Park Foundation is the official charitable partner of the National Park Service, and spearheads important efforts like restoring the Everglades, providing educational grants to the parks, and raising awareness in future generations by bringing students nationwide to the parks. That means that when you purchase a map, you’re also helping to protect the land it depicts.
