second time around…

much of what I do in life is look for the possibilities.

I wanted to share these photos yesterday, but a migraine had other plans. It escalated as the day went on… though not before I had the chance to spend time w/ some wonderful people.

Thank you for reminding me why I do this.

Sorry if I missed any of you Saturday afternoon when I made the hard decision to leave a bit early.

I spent the latter part of the day recovering and am giving it another try today.

my cottage will be open Sunday at the flea. If you’re planning a visit… earlier in the day might be best… as the heat + lingering effects of yesterday may shorten my afternoon a bit.

patinaACRES got a little addition today… and a blast from the past.

This old Pepsi sign has been in my collection for many years. It hung on my last studio & has followed me through a lot of life.

Today it finally found a home on my patio. After all these years, it felt like the right choice for a new generation. 💙❤️

life feels a little tender right now, so I’m simply taking small steps every day to be ready for the weekend ahead.

the day of Dad’s service I came across a few pieces that seemed to find me at just the right time… and bringing them back to life somehow felt a little symbolic too.

I was getting myself ready to head to Nebraska to visit my dad when I got a call from my sister yesterday morning.

Even though I knew this news would be coming at some point … it still sent me into shock. Sadness.

I sat blankly in my kitchen, watching my little bird feeding station, when suddenly — after days and days of oranges and grape jelly — I had my very first oriole visit my home.

Then came the red-headed woodpecker. The pileated woodpecker. Yellow finches. Rose-breasted grosbeaks. all within two hours of that call.

I laughed and cried.
The best and worst moments all intertwined.

My dad and I were birds of a feather. His love of animals, collecting, and sweet treats will forever live in me.

My heart is broken, and part of me wants to shut down. But he would not want that for me. So I won’t.

There are still lots of birds to feed.

Thank you for sharing this very human & vulnerable space with me.

I would also like to mention… my spring events are in honor of my mom. You never met a bigger cheerleader than that lady. I wouldn’t be who I am — or create the way I do — without her.

Not a day goes by that I don’t miss her… or look for her in the sky.
Pink flowers. Apparel only my mom could pull off while dancing. She’s everywhere. 💕

Whatever Mother’s Day means to you… feel free to come celebrate with me. The studio will be open one more day for the spring event:
Sunday / 11–3

I love all moms. People moms. Pet moms. Plant moms. You name it.

So here’s to moms everywhere…
