Happy Father’s Day to all of the awesome dads out there!

Special shout out to my husband who not only works so hard to take care of his family, but he’s always on board with any new ideas I have for this business. Always willing to get to work and help me execute all of crazy things I dream up that I need his help building. As well as sometimes being my unpaid manual labor at weddings 😬. He does it all and never complains.

Since today is mine and my husband‘s 23rd wedding anniversary I wanted to share a few pictures from our wedding. And obviously, looking at these pictures from 23 years ago we didn’t take pictures like we do today. Maybe it’s because we didn’t have cameras at our disposal on our phones, but I had to laugh looking through all of our wedding pictures and could only find one picture of just our ceremony decorations in the church and it’s not even centered. Like whoever took it didn’t even try 😂😂. Might have been me, but I honestly cannot remember. 

We did have a beautiful wedding, although I forgot what our cake looked like until I looked at these pictures today. My husband and I built the wall that you see in the first picture, the one that’s not centered haha, but it’s the only picture I have of just the decorations. That is made out of Styrofoam and it still one of my favorite things. I have done it not only for our wedding but a couple more weddings and different parties that I have done. It is so easy to build and is so cool for pulling off looks where you want a stone wall without actually having a stone wall. This is the only part of our wedding that I did not do the floral decorations on. My husband‘s aunt is a florist and I had her do this part. She did such a beautiful job. I loved it so much and I didn’t have to worry about it.

Along with a couple of my friends, I did our reception at our churches family life center and my amazing Sister-in-law did my husband’s grooms cake and table. I did all of the bouquets, boutonnieres and corsages and I am happy to say that 23 years later my skills have improved 😂.

I was two days away from turning 25 years old, had already been married one time and was a nervous wreck going into this wedding. I was too young to be married the first time, obviously it didn’t work out and here I was not only getting married again, but marrying a man who had two daughters. I had no clue what I was doing. But thankfully, it all worked out and here we are 23 years later with a beautiful life, a beautiful family, and I wouldn’t trade any moment of it.

When you get to use the brides great grandmothers brooch on the bouquet 🥰🥰🥰. Can’t wait to show y’all this bridal bouquet I made yesterday. Beautiful blues, white, light pinks and yellow. And the real touch blue hydrangeas were stunning. This one was a little extra special anyway. I may have pictures of the bride as a two year old miniature bride in my wedding 23 years ago 🥹🥰.

I’m working on wedding flowers today and Hunter a.k.a. shop kitty decided to come in and take a nap for the last couple of hours. At some point I got up and he took my chair and instead of disturbing him. I’ve just been working standing up. He thinks he is the king of the neighborhood and my shop and I guess he might actually be.

Hey future brides! I am booking not only for next year wedding dates, but I have openings for this year as well. I have always wanted to be the person that you not only can book a year or so in advance, but also the person that you can book if you don’t have a lot of time to plan. Especially if you are willing to use things I have on hand and don’t mind trusting me. There are a few of these weddings in the pictures I am sharing here that were put together really fast, the bride trusted me and I delivered. One of them was put together in a weeks time. I will let you guess which one. I just feel that every bride deserves a beautiful wedding day and if I have the availability, then I can definitely do it with all of the things I have on hand to rent out. Most everything you see in these pictures belongs to me so it’s rentable items…. Including flowers.

I have some availability in August, September and October. If it’s planned accordingly and you get with me quickly, I could also have availability in November and December. I do stay busy in November and the first two weeks in December with Christmas decorating and I’m starting to book those jobs now so if you have a wedding date in November or December and would like to use me get with me ASAP so I can schedule my life accordingly.

I do prefer to sit down with the bride to be for a consult and then I can give you a quote. The consult and quote is free  and I do require a deposit to secure your place on my schedule.

Whether you want a lot or a little, whether you want me to do the whole wedding, just the ceremony, just the reception or just your bouquets, etc. I can make it happen for you.

As promised this morning, here is a picture of my sweet neighbor Lucille. She is one of the kindest, sweetest and toughest women I have ever met in my life. She has battled cancer the last few years and beat it twice, and thankfully is still in remission. And as hard as it has been on her body, she still never stops. She says when she stops, that’s when everything falls apart so she’s determined to keep going. That’s why she has beautiful flowers and fat and happy cats because she gets out every day and takes care of all of those things. She even mowed her grass while we were on vacation. My husband usually takes care of that for her and it terrified me hearing her say she did it, but the look on her face of pure joy was also very satisfying. Because she always loved to do yardwork. And if you are from my area, odds are you know her. I think everyone knows her. One of my favorite lines by her is “Isn’t that something”. I also love to hear her talk to her cats. She was never able to be a mother and she is one of those people that should have been. One of those things that makes you question the fairness of life. Or maybe the unfairness. I lost my mother nine years ago and there’s so many things about Lucille that reminds me of my mom. She’s just a little bit younger than my mom, they come from the same era and do a lot of the same things alike. Getting hugs from her sometimes reminds me of getting hugs from my mom. But you will hear me tell Lucille sometimes to quit being so stubborn that I’m trying to be her daughter 😂😂.  I love her dearly, and I am so thankful that God placed her in my life. And since I shared her flowers with y’all today, I wanted to share her with y’all. Show her some love in the comments and I will let her read all of them. She likes for me to show her things on the Internet. So this will tickle her.

So, if any of you know me personally, you know that I am really good at working with fake flowers. I am very good at designing and positioning them just right. I have beautiful flower beds at my house and even hanging plants but they’re all fake. I can design the flower beds perfectly, I just can’t keep real flowers alive. But I like pretty things so I figured out how to do it with fake flowers. My sweet next-door neighbor, Ms. Lucille, that you see me talk about a lot, especially if you follow me on my personal page is the complete opposite. She can grow anything. She has the most beautiful flowers. She has told me bless your heart on more than one occasion when she sees me working in my fake flower beds. I have fooled her in the past, she thought things had changed for me and thought I had some real flowers and that was funny. She still told me bless your heart though. If you’re from the south, you know 😂. She even bought me flowers for Mother’s Day, but she has custody of them. They are on her porch steps and I go and look at them. Anyway, I drink coffee with her a lot on her front porch and the other day it had recently rained, and all of her flowers were just so beautiful so I got a few pictures and wanted to share them with all of you. Everyone needs a Lucille in their life. She is going to be 81 years old this month and I am so thankful for her. I love sitting and visiting with her and listening to her stories. She also taught me how to make her homemade biscuits as well as other several needed life hacks. Y’all enjoy these pictures of her flowers and maybe later today I will share a picture of her and a few more stories about some of my adventures with Lucille and her flowers and cats.
