Did you know Phil is active in the local American Legion Post 128 Decaturville, TN? He doesn't just sell meat boxes to support the Post. Here he is in the ranch store, getting ready to go sell some homemade ice cream with the Post. They're raising money to build a new community building to better serve local folks :)

Here's Phil on Saturday, getting ready to go serve up some ice cream!

The ingredient list on store white bread is longer than it has any right to be. Phil's has six real ingredients. He makes it on Tuesdays. Come get some before it's gone.

The skeleton’s going up.

Poles standing tall. Walls being strengthened. And then... the trusses.

Phil’s question from the site: “Who would like to be up there with him?”

Yeah. About that. No thanks.

But look at it come together. From flat dirt to an actual structure with walls and a roof frame. This is where it stops looking like a pile of materials and starts looking like a barn.

It's like Christmas morning but instead of presents, it's a barn.

All the pieces are here. Trusses, beams, metal panels, roofing materials. Everything we ordered is sitting on the ground ready to go.

Now the real work starts. We actually have to build this thing.

"Where does it come from?" is not a weird question. It's the only question. Here's your answer.

Cheap meat isn't actually cheap. The cost just gets moved somewhere else... to the animal, to the land, or to you down the road in ways that are harder to see at checkout. We're not the cheapest option at the grocery store. We're not trying to be.

Look, it’s a pile of dirt. We’re not going to pretend this is thrilling.

But what you’re actually looking at is a perfectly graded, leveled site ready for a brand new barn. The bulldozers and dump trucks are doing their thing. Moving earth, flattening ground, and getting everything ready for a solid pole barn.

Boring? Maybe. But this is step one of something actually cool coming. Trust us. It gets better.

The grocery store asks you to trust a system that has repeatedly shown it doesn't deserve that trust. What made you switch to buying ranch direct? Was it a label that didn't add up? A documentary? A health scare? A friend who wouldn't stop talking about their farmer?

For us, it was superbugs. That was the last straw that got us out of the supermarket. And then eventually (because apparently we don't do anything halfway) we started our own ranch.

And now, you know the person who raised it and you can see exactly what you're getting.

What do you think? Drop it in the comments or come visit the ranch.
