Jadyne had a terrific time today at the Mark Husak Fundraiser (https://www.facebook.com/events/1484927568425412/) . She had her camera with her, and there's a new evolution I've noticed through her images tonight. She's taking more images of people, not just objects. She's connecting more and more! :D Yay, Jadyne! Unfortunately, though, I'm noticing her camera is having issues, so quality is down on some of her shots, but that's the camera, not her. Good thing Christmas is right around the corner.

HUGE thank you to Michaels Stores in Washington PA, (Store #9906) for having a Kinetic Sand display out at checkout today. Checkout is the WORST time (I seriously dread it), and although Jadyne was premeltdown as we arrived to the registers, she had a total blast playing with the sensory activity of the kinetic sand. Thank you so much. More stores should do this!!!

Informative video by Talk About Curing Autism . We've done them all except RDI. Excellent place to start if you're new to this autism journey. One thing I would have added is never give up and never listen to negative prognoses. The little 11yr old who we have to tell to stop talking now sometimes and loves going to school was never supposed to say more than 10 words or function even enough to go to public school according to early prognoses. We've moved from poor to fair prognosis over the years, incorporated hundreds of words, 3-5 word sentences now, imaginative play, and reduced meltdowns both in frequency and strength greatly. So my advice is try everything! No two kids on the spectrum are the same and no one therapy will work, but one cool thing about parents of autistic kids is we don't quit, and we'll fine the combo that works for ours. ;) Keep trying, keep talking, and don't forget to relax, have fun, and have moments that are just pure innocent joy with your child, not all about the autism....and quiet candle-lit book time for yourself, too!

You child has just been diagnosed with autism and you’ve been given so many resources, tips, and information that you don’t even know how to wrap your head around it all. Don’t worry, finding what is best for your child will take time but will all fall into place.

Why yes, I sent Jadyne to school today with an empty toilet paper roll. She was so delighted with that simple thing and saying "aarrrgh!" as a pirate that I surely wasn't going to be the one to tell her no. So she got on the bus with a smile on her face and a toilet paper roll up to her eye. Aye mateys. Hope you all have a wonderful day!
