I don’t usually comment on GunBroker posts because I understand supply and demand.
That said, I’d caution against posting absolutes like “No More Swiss Imports Forever” and “Permanent Export Ban.” Switzerland exported over 94 million CHF worth of defense articles to the United States last year alone.
Switzerland’s export authority, SECO, implemented a temporary ban on the export of defense articles to the U.S., made official around March 11 of this year, due to U.S. involvement in Iran. A similar temporary restriction was put in place in 2003 because of U.S. involvement in Iraq.
These actions are tied to Switzerland’s long-standing neutrality policies regarding exports to countries involved in armed conflicts, not necessarily a permanent end to Swiss exports to the United States.
