Come out and rock with us at the FS Music student showcase 6 p.m. Saturday, May 9, at he old Crystal River City Hall, 123 N.W. US 19 in Crystal River. We'll be in the pavilion under the oaks. Bring lawn chairs, snacks, drinks and bug spray (it's Florida, it's outside).

A big shout out and thank you to the city of Crystal River for letting us use this beautiful facility and to local performer Walter Whitney for lending us us his stage sound system.

Support our students- there could be a future rock star and you can say you saw them when they were just starting.

And, for anyone considering lessons or just curious, come out and check out the show with your future rock stars and meet the music director and sign up for lessons. We have bands for all ages and skill level.

I can't forget to thank all the students who worked hard and practiced hard to reach this level and the support of their parents to make sure they practiced and got them to lessons. All of you are rock stars too and they couldn't be there without you.

FS Music is open 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. We also teach guitar, uke, bass, piano and drums and have an adult group easy guitar class. We repair guitars, amps and school band instruments.

FS Music is going to summer hours starting this week. Hours are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. We are closed Saturday and Sunday. Hope to see you soon.

We have a large selection of lightly played Hohner (German made) harmonicas available starting at $26. We are also having a sale on the junior DDrum kits in white, blue and black.

They will sell quickly so get a set for your fledgling percussionist before they are gone.

THE SOUND OF IMAGINATION Summer Camp
FS Music Summer Camp, The Sound of Imagination: A Five Day Sonic Odyssey, for ages 12 and older is 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 28 to Aug. 1 at the FS Music studio, 430 N.E. Third Street in Crystal River. Lunches are provided.

Themes include Impressionism and surrealism, machines and mayhem: futurism, embracing chaos: Avant-garde and chance music, film music and breaking the staff: experimental notation.
All campers will be composing their own pieces – musical instruments are not needed.
Sign up early as there are a limited number of spaces available.

Join us for the FS Music Summer Camp, "The Sound of Imagination: A Five-Day Sonic Odyssey," designed for ages 12 and up! The camp runs daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. from July 28 to August 1 at the FS Music studio, located at 430 N.E. Third Street in Crystal River.

Lunch will be provided. Camp themes include exploring Impressionism and Surrealism, diving into the world of machines and mayhem through Futurism, embracing chaos with Avant-garde and chance music, and breaking traditional boundaries with experimental notation.
