This Saturday, take a drive through the Tunnel of Trees — and discover a little art along the way.

The Tunnel of Trees Art Trail, presented by the Good Hart Artist Residency, is a self-guided trail celebrating art and history from Harbor Springs to Cross Village. Galleries, studios, local businesses, and artists become stops along the route, so you can start wherever you’d like and make a day of exploring.

Peninsulas is Stop 32, and we’ll have two guest artists setting up in our side yard for the day:

Toni Gasco — a third-generation Native American artist whose work includes handmade jewelry and beadwork, along with her hand-painted rocks featuring wildlife and nature-inspired designs. Toni will also be doing face painting throughout the day!

Scott Smith Taylor — a Detroit-based stained glass artist creating colorful, one-of-a-kind glass panels and geometric designs from his studio in Detroit’s historic Pioneer Building.

Drive the Tunnel. Follow the Art Trail signs. Meet some artists. Find something you love. And enjoy a pretty great Saturday in Northern Michigan.

The Tunnel of Trees is a big part of what we do around here.

We drive it. We photograph it. We talk about it (probably too much). And, naturally, we design a few things inspired by it, too.

Throwback time!

Twelve years ago today, we were part of the Detroit @ CTAC Creative Runway Fashion Show at Petoskey's Crooked Tree Arts Center.

Throughout the summer of 2014, Crooked Tree Arts Center celebrated Detroit's artists, musicians, filmmakers, designers, and makers through its Detroit @ CTAC exhibition. The Creative Runway fashion show and Detroit Artists & Makers Vendor Fair brought that energy to Northern Michigan—and we were honored to be part of it.

That weekend was the first time we shared Peninsulas with the world—and one of our first tastes of the area we would eventually call home.

Thank you to everyone who has supported us in Berkley, Cross Village, online, and through our retail partners over the past 12 years. We couldn't have done it without you!
