Sitting, thinking about two things. The harsh setting sun making vibrant, violent streaks across the wall. How beautiful light and shadow can create complex and dramatic imagery from something mundane. And the weighty silence that always follows a lively function. Like when you get to the end of a dinner party and everyone goes home, and there’s a bodily exhaustion and a grateful heart that comes over you.

I am grateful.

Thanks to everyone that came out for the Summer Bash, I think it was a great success. Small businesses live for these moments. The coffee shop/bookstore is quiet now, but the memories of a good day linger a bit longer.
