It’s happened...I get an inquiry for invitations then ask the bride the date of the wedding to find out it’s less than two months away.
So let’s walk through this, by the time we nail down her vision, work on rounds of proofs, finalize upgrades, print the invitations, assemble the invitations, and ship them to the bride, she’s down to less than a month and a half before the wedding- the wedding that’s during football season on a big home game night at a venue with a strict headcount number due a month before. Because of that headcount she opted to have the rsvp date one week before it was due at the venue- are you doing the math?
SO invitations are ordered and shipped but now they have less than one week to get to you, for you to stamp and mail them, for USPS to process them, for them to arrive to your guests homes, AND for every single one of the 200+ guests to RSVP. What do y’all think? Was that going to happen?
It could! Of course it could! But more than likely, a hiccup during one of the two mailing bouts would push back delivery a day or two, the suites might sit in the mailbox for a couple of days after arrival, and guests honestly might read the invite and set it down, forgetting to RSVP for a bit! So now you’re at your deadline and only have 50% of the RSVPs back- what a pickle!
...Have I convinced you to order early, yet? 🤪
Tight timelines leave everyone anxious- do your best to avoid that and get your stationery done early. Your headcount is one of the most important details; you need it for catering, bar, venue, favors, seating chart- so many things are dependent on it, even moreso if you’re having a sit-down dinner versus a buffet.
Order early, check it off the list so you can get to the other fun stuff and have logistics off your plate 🫶🏻✉️✒️💍
