As someone who shops for others for a living, I have strong feelings about all aspects of shopping.
And one thing is for sure- I LOVE shopping in person.
I happily shop online for clients if they prefer, but in-person shopping with me is about more than just buying new clothes. It’s an educational experience.
On that note, I thought I’d share some of my top tips for in-person shopping.
1- Pre-shop closet audit- a completely necessary step! Make sure you know what you need and what you don’t need. (I’m a sucker for a black skirt- I know I don’t need anymore!)
2- Make a plan: Visit the stores that are likely to have what you need. And cap the list at 3 stores tops. Trust me.
3- Fuel up first. Shopping is a workout. Make sure you bring water and eat first. Coffee doesn’t hurt either.
4- Know what works! The most important tip of all. If you know what works- color wise, silhouette wise and style personality wise, you will be prepared against bright shiny object syndrome (and sales) at stores.
Save this post and come back next week for more tips.
PS- if you need shopping help, it’s a big component of my Complete Style package. Check out website link in bio for more info.
