This one is close to my heart. 💕

A client came to me with quilt sections her grandmother had started years ago but was never able to finish. Grandma is no longer able to complete it herself, but her love and hard work are stitched into every piece.

I had the honor of taking those sections and finishing the quilt so the family could have it complete — a piece of grandma's hands, her time, and her love, ready to be passed down for generations.

This is why I do what I do. Turning unfinished projects and cherished fabric into something a family can hold onto forever. 🧵❤️

There's something really special about this one. 💛

This memory bear was made from a dad's shirt — soft, worn, full of memories — and it's headed off to college with his daughter this fall. Every time she's missing home during those first tough weeks of freshman year, she'll have a little piece of Dad right there with her.

That's what we love about this work at Marci Jo's Boutique. It's not just fabric — it's comfort, connection, and home you can hold onto.

A friend's son graduated. She'd been saving his high school shirts for years — every team, every event, every worn-out favorite.

I made them into this quilt.

And then he packed it up and took it to his dorm room.

I love that. I love that it went with him. That's exactly what it's supposed to do.

45 years ago this week.

I walked across a stage, took a diploma, and started the rest of my life. I had no idea the road would lead here – to a studio full of fabric, and a calling I didn’t see coming.

Somewhere between then and now, I learned something I wished I’d known at 18: the things we wear carry more than we realize. The jerseys, the spirit shirts, the worn-out hoodie. They hold the time. They hold the person we were.

I get to turn those things into something people keep for the rest of their lives. I believe that’s a gift I was given – and I try to honor it with every project that comes through my door.
To the Class of 2026: you’re about to walk across your own stage. Save the shirts. Someday, you’ll be glad you did.
