Beauty is found in the broken, neglected, unloved loneliness of the abnormal. Joy rushes me in an organized chaos of colors, shapes, styles, and textures. I never understood why I hated art that matched my couch. I never understood why symmetry was unattainable. I never understood why I was the only one that gravitated to the weird. I have finally been diagnosed with “Bohemian Style”. I have started to let go and embrace my own Boho Experience. It’s not just gypsies, tramps, and thieves. It is not just Buddha and Turkish baths. The definition of bohemian is “an artist, or writer, or anyone who sets social conventions aside”. YES! It began to blossom in the 1920’s as a rebellion against the Victorian Era. Take off those corsets and relax! The rebellion of correctness continued to the beatniks of the ‘60’s. Since then it has been sprinkled with international and individual influences.
Come journey with me on this Boho Experience. If you are called to completely change your style or just need a small piece to remind yourself if is ok to break convention.
