Flying Baby Mechanic A rhyming children's book about little heroes who travel the world to fix things GALA House started in 2025 as part of the Flying Baby Mechanic series.

We are family-owned and proud to be based in Chicago. We started GALA House after writing our first children's book for our son while he was in in the NICU. After being inspired by our own little magic moments during story time, we came up with the idea for Flying Baby Mechanic. Going forward, we hope to add more stories to the GALA House collection, and look forward to engaging with other familie

s and book stores in the area and beyond. We are always open to doing readings and other volunteer activities that support families bonding over stories and literature. For additional information, or to connect, please email us!

Getting so excited for this Sunday, 02/01! We will be doing a reading of the Leaning Tower of Pisa at The Royal Palms Shuffleboard Club ar 1750 N Milwaukee Avenue where the Wicker Park Indoor Farmers Market takes place. The reading starts at 1pm. The venue opens at 10AM and closes at 2PM. More than 400 people came to the farmers market on January 18. This one will be extra special as it’s Kids Day, and we will be reading alongside another local author.

We are excited to be invited to and participate in the Wicker Park Bucktown Indoor Farmer’s Market on Sunday, February 01, 10am-2pm. We will be selling both hardcover and softcover editions of Astro the Flying Baby Mechanic’s Leaning Tower of Pisa story. We will also participate in a reading between 1-2pm that day! As frequent visitors to the farmer’s market, we recognize how special these markets are for the local families in wicker park and Bucktown and look forward to meeting other fellow families in the area.
