Had a great time at Riverside Arts Weekend this weekend! In spite of a rainy morning, had some of the best fair weather ever on Sunday afternoon. And the best part? Hanging out with my buddy Jen of DeLaLuna Stitchery all weekend! Check out her stuff! I'm not used to having a tentmate and it was just delightful. Next up: Glenview Summer Art Fair on July 18th! And lastly: the granola bouquet! This bouquet was a combination of packaging from and fig and granola bars. I used zinnias to feature the products and included a few white shasta daisies to anchor the busy-ness of the bouquet. I loved the variations of colors that I had to work with! Seemed well suited to the colorful spirit of zinnia blooms.
SO, which one was your favorite? Let me know in the comments!

The first bouquet I made for the order was . With the branded sunflowers and leaves, I thought long and hard about how to balance colors and patterns to prevent too much visual clutter while still having the branding shine through. Additionally, it was the first run for how different material stiffness levels would interact together. In this case, how would/could I use the various aspect of packaging (heavy weight cardboard and/or the foil weight of the cylindrical top sealers up against the typical 65lb cardstock I design in). This one went through a number of iterations, but set the design tone for the order as a whole once it was done.

And of course, rounding out the chocolates: M&Ms! I wanted to go a little overboard for these. This bouquet was made up of over 100 hand cut hydrangea blossoms (thank you Crunchy Cookie variety for that lovely hydrangea blue color option), and of course, the iconic yellow peanut variety.
Only 2 more bouquets left. Any guesses on which products?

Bring on the chocolate! Here we have represented , drinking chocolate (which led to a delightful conversation downtown with the staff at the downtown store near Water tower to find the right materials), and ! Lotta chocolate, lotta brown, and a lot of thinking about how to make them each look different enough but still, well, chocolatey?

How about some....Cheez-Its! My Japanese anemone style was a perfect way to highlight the Cheez-It branding with its large wide open petaling, and I was especially tickled to be able to find a flavor (white cheddar, mmm) that had enough green in the packaging that I could even use it for the anemone leaf greenery. This was my husband's favorite because it meant more Cheez-Its in the house.
Get ready for some chocolate next. Any guesses? I did 4 different chocolate based arrangements.
