Even rocks like to accessorize every now and then. I saw these crochet rocks from and it was a happy little reminder for me to practice some self-care in the most basic form.

I’ve been inspired to take my sweatpants fashion to the next level (can you even say sweat pants and fashion in the same sentence?). I’m pairing my most comfortable sweats with my most stylish earrings and while no one, outside my husband and dog, see me--its all about how it makes me feel.

And all the little things we do to help support us in feeling good add up to big emotional shifts. I’ll post a few pics from my personal self care journey in my stories.

I go on antique treasure hunts to find these special vintage vessels for each one of my pieces. Each tin, jar and votive is hand selected and special. I often sit with each one for a time before I feel out which plant wants to be created specially for that piece.

And sometimes I come across a REALLY special or unique tin. I might create the imagined plant for it but these typically stay in my studio for a long time. They sit on my shelf in a prominent viewing position where I can enjoy them until I’m ready to find it a new home. Yes – I get attached to my own art.

This was one of those pieces. I found a series of these very unique Art Nouveau spice tins. A few of them have the design so faded you can hardly see it and I knew I needed to create something special and help this vintage tin find new life in someone’s home.

Many years ago, I had the pleasure of hearing author Ted Andrews tell a story about a magical encounter with these inquisitive little creatures. Although he is no longer with us on earth, his teachings helped provide the most beautiful techniques for recognizing and interpreting the signs and omens of nature.

His book Animal Speak has forever changed the way I connect and engage with nature. I can’t recommend it enough.

I am a lot of things but a minimalist is not one of them. Lets just say there is a lot that sparks joy in my life. But I love Marie Kondo’s methods. Periodically I waking up my art supplies and share my appreciation for helping creativity flow. I always feel realigned and reinvigorated to create afterwards.

These vintage Red Owl tins are such a find and always make my day! I didn't grow up with this Midwestern grocery chain but am always drawn to their logo. I've had a small series of these tins for awhile and I'm finally listing them on Etsy and in the Instagram shop!
