Just shared in the group, now I’ll share the note here::

•••••••••••••••••••••••••
I have this relationship with social media, that might be best described as on the verge of dread.
Or maybe just burnout.

Having The Ragtag Mercantile here in this space as “your online general store” for over 8 years, and before that my marketing company mostly based online. Burnout might be the best way to describe it.

So here I am with my marketing mind, always thinking I need to do something. Have a business. Market myself. Stay current in this space or where ever the people are.

The truth is, since closing the store, moving to Guntersville, and changing up the group to reflect my writing, I haven’t been on as much. And this group remaining almost feels like the last strand of hope to stay in touch with my friends here. I’m not sure that’s what we have been doing.

So the time to put the group on pause has come and to close the page that was created to match; because social media gurus said I should have a business page to match with the group.

I’m long winded sometimes.
I throw out quick quotes sometimes.
What I want to do is continue to contemplate life and people and to write about it.
Sometimes I’ll share online and some writings will forever be in a notebook at the top of my closet.

However, at this time any writing shared online will be on my personal page and you are welcome to follow me there.

I love y’all and I am so thankful for all we have gotten into over the past 8+ years.

I’ll just be me. Rachel Noble. Hanging out in the woods or at the lake or around town doing whatever I get in to next. That is still yet to be seen. 🥰

I’ll see you over on my personal page if you want to!

❤️

I wrote this day, in thinking about how “protect your peace” gets tossed around.

The easy, superficial is tossing away anything that is uncomfortable.
People places or things.

The deeper piece of this work is an inside job.
It’s knowing when to release and let go.

🌼•••••••••••••••🌼

protecting your peace
is more about guarding the piece of you
that stays steady when everything seems
to be coming apart.

not avoiding life.
not cutting people off.
not leaving conversations when they get hard.

the peace to be protected is not seen.
it’s the steady inside when there’s
tension in the room.
it’s not letting every opinion
pull you into a reaction.
it is also choosing where your
emotional energy goes.
recognizing environments that drain you.

knowing when to let go.

leaving when the emotional business is finished
not because it got uncomfortable.

Sometimes things loudly fall apart
and they are built back stronger.

But they don’t always have to fall apart.
Or have a dramatic ending.
Or a dramatic rise from the ashes
to affect change and begin something new.

Sometimes the shift begins quieter
With just a knowing in your spirit
that something has to be different.

That life needs to change.
That life just. can. not. stay. the. same.

The shift begins with small choices
and quiet moments
and staying open to what needs to be.

Awareness. Growth.
Not always getting it right.
But always doing the next right thing.

Not everything meaningful
has to explode to bring change.
Dramatic new beginnings
can begin
quietly.

Here’s permission
to change your life dramatically.
Or continue with the quiet moments
that bring the change.

Loud. Dramatic.
or
Quiet. Confident.
Just doing the next right thing.

Firat shared 2014:

Thought.

Most of the time we’re prideful arrogant jerks...judgmental, hypocritical, and legalistic

while claiming to follow a Jesus who is forgiving, authentic and loving.

I have heard “Empath” is a made up word.
Cool.
All words were made up at one point or another.
And this one works for this.
