Do you know your octane?
Here is something most people do not think about until it shows up in their lap time.
The octane rating on a gas station pump is an average. It can vary by region, by season, by supplier, and by how long that fuel has been sitting in the ground. The number on the pump is a range, not a guarantee.
If you tuned your engine for a specific octane, you need to actually get that octane every single time. That is what 5-gallon pails and 55-gallon drums are for. Same Sunoco race fuel. Same octane. Every time.
Stop guessing. Tag someone who needs to hear this.
