I don’t soft DNF very often but these books all have amazing potential and 9/10 it’s because I started with the third book of a series and even if they’re interconnected standalone I wanna read from the start so I added these books to my ITR list and I’ll circle back eventually.

Forget Me Not by is not just a good book—it’s a feel-it-in-your-chest, sit-with-you-after-you-close-it kind of book. The kind that sneaks up on you emotionally and then refuses to let go. The writing is beautiful, intentional, and so raw. But what makes this book even more special to me is that it was written by my best friend. And somehow, she managed to pour herself into every single page. Reading this book felt less like reading and more like having a conversation with Alex where she’s telling you a story but also letting you see her heart. Her personality is woven so deeply into the prose that at times it felt like the book was talking to me in her voice.

There’s a warmth, a familiarity, and an emotional intelligence here that you can’t fake. You can feel the care behind every word, every moment, every heartache. Forget Me Not is the kind of story that reminds you why you love reading in the first place because sometimes books don’t just tell stories, they connect you to people. (And this book connected me right back to my love for reading that I lost last year)

This one will always be special to me. Not just because of who wrote it—but because of how deeply it speaks. Oh and you know Aimi and Cyrus.

I’m so proud of you Alex, I’ll never let you forget that. 🩵
