William Shatnerās iconic Captain Kirk returns in the short film 765874: Unification, released today by the Roddenberry Archive to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Star Trek: Generations. This 8-minute short blends live-action and advanced CGI, reconnecting decades of Star Trek lore and offering fans a thrilling experience honoring Kirk, Spock, and other beloved characters.
The production features Sam Witwer as a young Kirk and Lawrence Selleck as Spock, with costumes, prosthetics, and digital effects faithfully recreating the characters. Original actors also make cameo appearances, including Robin Curtis as Saavik and Gary Lockwood as Gary Mitchell, while Gordon Tarpleyās Yor crosses over from the Kelvin Universe into the Prime Universe. The film is executive produced by Shatner and Susan Bay Nimoy, directed by Carlos Baena, with music by Michael Giacchino and production design by David Blass.
Part of the Roddenberry Archiveās ā765874ā series, the short uses interactive sets, props, and worlds from Generations. Presented in Digital Cinema 4K HDR and optimized for Apple Vision Pro, it delivers an immersive experience that bridges classic and modern Star Trek storytelling.
