40 pounds of the most durable piece of workout equipment on the planet. Go ahead and slam it around, leave it outside year-round, and drag it across the fields 🤷🏼‍♂️ Slambag don’t care.

Months ago I competed in this event and left frustrated, with 3 poor throws landing me in the middle of the pack. Yesterday all it took was my first throw to dominate my previous performances and launch the top throw in the field.
What did I do differently?
I focused on practicing the organic and explosive movements that come with Slambag training, getting my body used to the more rounded surface of the apparatus. Grabbing a Slambag requires more grip strength variations and dexterity than your typical gym training where everything is a nicely gnurled 1” diameter bar. This all helped me hang on longer for my throw to take advantage of the full force that I was putting into it. Then the Slambag training also gets your body used to the way the weight moves differently to more accurately reflect the demands of real life scenarios - more like dead weight requiring rotational movements rather than rigid weight in only one plane of motion - so that you feel familiar enough with the unique movement pattern to confidently pull and thrust through.
