I am so excited to introduce my latest creation - an Improv Quilted Tote Bag. I spent hours designing and quilting the two fabric panels used to construct this bag. The final product is even better than what I envisioned. I can't wait to create a new one!

6" base, 7" across the top, 5 1/2" tall

Handcrafted basket made from coiled, cotton rope stitched with variegated thread in bright carnival colors. Portions of the rope have been wrapped in batik fabric that features pops of color on a dark background. The front of the basket is finished with a cascade of multiple strands of rope.

This is a very versatile piece. Use for artificial floral arrangements, as shown, or add a waterproof liner and it's a perfect planter.

Other uses include:

Cosmetics holder
Wrapped candies bowl

I woke up feeling unmotivated today. I decided to take a break from sewing bibs and do something fun. I’ve been wanting to try something that I recently saw on YouTube - a fabric and rope basket. I’ve repeatedly watched several videos of the three common methods and, of course, I chose the more complicated method. It was a challenge and it’s far from perfect, but I love it because I made it with some of my favorite batik fabrics. It’s about 6" tall and spans 11" across the top. I used a 1/4" cotton braided cord commonly used for window sashes or clothesline. I covered the entire 100’ length of cord with fabric, but didn’t use it all so I’ll make a smaller version with the leftovers.

DETAILS

These are baby-size bibs that measure approximately 11 1/4” x 8 1/2”.

Each bib is constructed from three layers of fabric to provide maximum protection. The bib front is 100% cotton unless otherwise specified. The middle layer is 100% cotton flannel. The back is either 100% polyester minky or 100% cotton chenille - see individual descriptions.

Two-position, plastic snap closure. No Velcro.

Look at this cutie!

I went into my studio last night with the intention of making baby bibs, but, to my surprise, I didn't have enough flannel. So I decided to try out a doll pattern that I've had for a while. I didn't have the felt it needed, but I made do with what I had on hand. It was cold last night so I added sherpa accessories. Isn't she adorable? And she's big - 19" tall! I can't wait to make one with the right materials. I want to make a boy doll, too!

It looks like it’s Baby Season! I’m working on several orders for bibs and burp cloths. I just finished these trio gift sets. Each one includes a baby bib, toddler bib, and a burp cloth. These have a printed cotton front, cotton flannel lining, and a cotton chenille back with a snap closure.

They are priced at $35 per set.

I also sell them individually.
Baby bibs are $12 each, or 5 for $55.
Toddler bibs are $14 each , or 5 for $65.
Burp cloths are $10 each, or 5 for $45.

All items are sewn in a pet-free, detached studio.
