Congratulations!!

It is with great honor and excitement to announce this year's 2026 Robert F. Pierce Vermont High School Principal of the Year, our very own MICHAEL RUPPEL!

Michael has put a lot of systems in place at OV to support students, and he really approaches things as a team. He’s leading the push for stronger academic rigor while also building great relationships with both students and staff.

Next time you see him, please congratulate him and thank him for all that he does for our school!

We are excited to share a bold new vision for Otter Valley! This proposal, which will be presented at the Annual District Meeting (2/25, 6:30pm, at Otter Valley!), is an investment in our students’ success and the long-term health of our community.

The Plan Includes:
✅ 6-8 Middle School: A model designed specifically for adolescent needs and development.
✅ Expanded CTE: New Makerspaces to expand student access to local, hands-on, technical learning.
✅ Community Gym: A full-size space for local sports and town events.
✅ Health & Safety: Repairs to critical maintenance items (HVAC, water, and fire safety).
✅ Better Design: "Option B" improves building flow and efficiency, and allows for consolidation of off-site offices.

A Note on the Agenda: To follow state standards, we have placed this under "Other Business" for the February 25th Annual District Meeting. Since this is not yet a formal vote, this is the proper procedural way to present the information. We wanted to get these details to you as soon as possible because we want our community to be informed and excited about these possible improvements.

For many married couples, when one partner is diagnosed with dementia, there’s often no question that the other will become the caregiver. It’s the hard part of the "for better or for worse" marriage vow.
