The quickest way to ruin a Saturday is expecting him to read your mind.Â
I remember in our dating days (and early in our marriage, too) I used to get this deep, brewing, icky feeling of disappointment when Jamiahus didnât somehow magically know exactly how I wanted to spend our day off together.Â
It felt like if it wasnât his idea, with no help from me, then that was somehow an indication of his love for me.Â
Please learn from my mistakes: ITâS NOT.Â
Our brains and hearts all work so differently. Unless you are partnered up with an exact carbon copy of yourself (unlikely) chances are they arenât operating inside of a romantic comedy where the male hero knows just what to say and do at just the right moment. Thatâs not real life.
Unprompted surprises are great, but explicitly asking for a beautiful Saturday morning is just as romantic (and way more reliable).Â
So, if youâre staring at your screen right now wishing for a romantic, offline weekend... this is your sign to just tell him!
Send this post to your partner as a not-so-subtle hint, and come see us at the Aurora Farmers Market this Saturday (from 8am to 12pm)! We'll have the bouquets ready for you.
