The C**t New Line models, one of C**t's earliest solid frame cartridge firing revolvers, saw prolific production from approximately 1873-1877, with many sold from inventory into the 1880's. These arms, totaling over 100,000 produced during their relatively short run of production, resulted in a large number of factory engraved arms.
This pair of the .22 caliber version (also offered in .30, .32, .38, and .41) are fine examples of these decorated pieces. Both are wearing factory ivory stocks, while they compliment each other with the remains of their original contrasting nickel & silver plated finishes. The nickel revolver features a very standard engraving pattern while the silver plated revolver features more coverage and a more intricate pattern of intertwined scroll.
