Grossular garnet 450 USD

Cerro de Moka, Sierra de Cruces, Municipio de Sierra Mojada, Coahuila, Mexico

This is a great specimen with a pair of large sharp, dramatic, intergrown, well-formed, lustrous, elongated crystals of ruby-red Grossular garnets to 39 x 21 x 19 mm. A few other garnets are also present. Like all these specimens, the garnets were mechanically excavated without any repairs, are in very good condition, with just a few dings present, as is normal with these specimens. A portion of one of the crystal pairs is incompletely formed showing the greenish core. The piece is exceptionally good, with very large crystals for this locality, and has nice aesthetics. It is much better than the photos show. Collected December of 1992 by Graham Sutton and Bob Griffis.

Wulfenite (bipyramidal) 65 USD

Erupcion/Ahumada Mine, Los Lamentos District, Sierra de Los Lamentos, Municipio de Ahumada, Chihuahua, Mexico

Elongated, tapered crystals of lustrous, orange-brown Wulfenite to 14 mm are perched on light-colored matrix. Of all the Wulfenite habits at the Los Lamentos Mine, the bipyramidal habit seen in this specimen is the rarest. Most of the pinacoid terminations are truncated. A couple of crystals are broken of at the matrix, but all the remaining crystals are in perfect condition. This very showy specimen was raised prior to 1978.

Tennantite with Chalcopyrite on Quartz

Cobre Mine, El Cobre, Mun. de Concepción del Oro, Zacatecas, Mexico

A classic specimen from this classic locality! A large Barite crystal (81 mm long) is pseudomorphed by small white Quartz crystals to 3 mm, and richly covered with numerous shiny black Tennantite crystals to 10 mm, all perched on a k**b of similar small Quartz points with Tennantite and Chalcopyrite. A large white Quartz crystal measuring 26 mm long, partly covered by smaller Quartz crystals, provides a nice accent at the base of the pseudomorph. This attractive old specimen dates to about the mid 1960s, when this collection was assembled. No obvious damage.
