My Grandpap came from the coal region and I'm so honored and excited to be a part of this event this coming weekend! Come out, see the events and take part in this wonderful weekend..... I'll let you know where I'm set up so you can browse the junk drawer 😉
One stop. Six museums. On June 20 & 21, Patchtown Days + Bluegrass Dispatch will bring together some of NEPA's leading heritage organizations for one weekend only.
Step into an 1850s miner's home to see the National Canal Museum's/Delaware & Lehigh National Heritage Corridor's traveling exhibit "Dynamo! Innovators, Inventors and Architects of Revolutionary Change." Visit the 1940s Nicholas House to check out "Carbon & Light: Anthracite as Subject and Medium," an exhibition by Bischoff Inn artists-in-residence Andrea Krupp and Michael Froio. The National Museum of Industrial History, Luzerne County Historical Society, and Mauch Chunk Museum and Cultural Center will also join us with artifacts, photographs, and stories from their collections.
Mark your calendars for this rare opportunity to experience the Coal Region's history and culture in a single visit!
Patchtown Days is generously sponsored by Blaschak Anthracite, Visit Luzerne County, and Reading and Northern Railroad - Passenger.
