Still in shock. 😲

I send a lot of knit and crocheted hats to Madhatter Knits, and last week they asked for my mailing address. I get thank you cards and tax receipts from other organizations I send hats to, so I thought nothing of it.

Then this GIANT envelope arrived. I had no idea what was inside; I thought it might have been a thank you card with lots of signatures, or a thank you from a hospital, or something like that.

NOPE.

It was a Certificate of Recognition from the California Legislature Assembly! 🤯 Madhatter Knits nominated me for this service award totally unbeknownst to me, and the State Assembly granted the award. The certificate from the assembly member says:

"I commend your commitment to supporting the health and comfort of our community's most vulnerable little ones in the ICU. Your consistent and quiet service has truly touched lives and inspired those around you."

I am absolutely touched and astounded and like, what? Me making hats led to THIS? I have a certificate with a shiny gold seal and official recognition? I'm just at a loss for words, honestly. (And my mom did say that she was proud of me, so that's an added bonus.) 🥰

My daughter wants to be Rainbow Brite for Halloween. 🌈🌈 Why buy a costume when you can make it yourself? Haha.

Bring on the challenge! 🧶🪡🧵

I started by crocheting her a color belt. And am now using my knitting machine to make leg warmers.

Updated my tally sheet for how many orders I've sent out for pregnancy loss hat, wing, and/or blanket keepsake sets. Unfortunately some of the boxes were getting crowded. 💔👼🧶

It looks so much nicer now. 💖

Summer knitting 🌞

The wildfire smoke cleared over the weekend, so I was able to bring my knitting outside without smelling 'burning'. 🔥

I'm using this variegated yarn to knit some preemie hats to donate. It's fun to see the stripes that form as the hat grows. 🧶
