After much consideration we have decided to keep our online store and will be working to bring some new products!

The re-launch of the website won’t be for a few months but are excited to be exclusively e-commerce and still working on unique collaborations near and far.

Also, we will still be in the space for a while so stay tuned for a mega sale! We are closed for everyday operations as we make the transition, but keep your eyes on the closing sale!

Everything will be on sale! Fixtures, our beautiful long tables with the art by HML !

Y’all this has been an amazing nearly 4 years owning ! It’s been truly a dream come true!

From 8 N. Broadway, to the riots, to COVID 19 5 months after opening, we have persevered. The best part was being able to open the doors for others to have a chance to showcase their talents and also watch them grow. From being featured in Chicago Magazine’s 50th Edition to speaking on NBC for Veterans Day one year, Chicago Tribune articles, Chicago Today and many collaborations! To the very last event a “Team Breezy “ event and hosting it with aunt !! What a way for me to move on to the next chapter.

I want to say a huge thank you to for the amazing support over these last 4 years. You were the fire that kept Downtown lit up! You truly love Aurora and it showed in all that you did for this community!

It has been a movie!! But in life, you have to sometimes turn the page and head over to the next chapter. I’m so excited to be headed towards new things . First, I would like to take some time for me and spend with my family without the concern of running a business that requires so much. Then I want to reignite my creativity and align new opportunities that allow me to operate in my gifts. I’ve kept this a secret for a little while but after some discernment it’s time to let you all know.

Thank you to for the support over the last 4 years! I wish this city the best and can’t wait to support as a patron and just enjoy what’s here!

That being said The Cotton Seed is officially closed for business.

In the Navy we had a way to say goodbye. It was a way to wish everyone well on their journey.

We are changing a lot of things in the shop and looking for specific things that match the vibe! 💙

This is our fourth year in business and we are looking to scale back on certain things and refine the inventory at the shop.

If you have been to our space you know that we have a large colorful mural with artistic , urban vibe elements throughout.

We are seeking products created locally that complement the feel of the space for a unique cohesive experience.

We don’t want to be too specific as we are open to seeing what’s out here near and far.

For our small event/workshop area, we are seeking those interested in teaching a workshop, hosting a small event etc.

A travel back in time to the original on Broadway where we turned a shabby old space into a cute little vibe! That spaced earned us a spot in 50th edition in the section “Valley of The Indies” with a cover of all of the amazing people who made history in Chicago over the last 50 years.

One thing we loved was our friendships with our Chicago based musicians .davis

They created such an amazing experience every-time! What we admired was their friendship, chemistry and energy they shared with us! 💙

At the Cotton Seed we love music, culture, art, colorful things, great energy and vibes.

We look forward to shop re-fresh this Spring with new items and vibes throughout.

It’s always fun to look back and realize although met with challenges over the years with COVID and it’s rippling effects, it’s been so fun, amazing and worth it.
