I am happy to report that I beat my dad today in both People’s Choice. I took first and my dad with The Leadership Center took second. I also took second with my pork loin.

Honestly, my flavors were my own but love of making food comes from working with my dad. Thank you, Shawn Vanwormer and everyone who came out!

The A-Town Showdown is well underway. My dad and I both have some good stuff coming off the smoker! Come on down and help me (or us) win people’s choice. People’s Choice is from now until 5. Voting is $$ in the bucket! Competition pieces are what’s for dinner at 5 for $10. It’s a fundraiser for a great cause. Hope to see y’all out.

Every summer since I was like 5, I have helped with this program. I like to play kickball or tag with all the kids that come! Today I get to go with Abby & Matthew to serve at the Aurora site while Jayson & Ashley go to Marquette. I really love this program and all the lunch fun I get to have while making friends.

It's one of the most exciting days of the year!! The beginning of our Summer Food Service Program a.k.a. Lunch Bunch for kids 18 & under. Are you coming? It's FREE and FUN!

LUNCH MENU:
Thursday: Hot dogs, carrots with ranch, bananas and milk
Friday: Ham & cheese sandwiches, cucumbers, apples and milk

Aurora-Lincoln Creek Trailhead: 11:30-12:30, Monday-Friday during summer months.
Marquette-Park: 11:30-12:15, Monday- Friday during the summer months.

THIS YEAR all participants must stay and eat their lunches at the site. We are no longer allowed to do grab & go lunches per the USDA SFSP guidelines. We know this is a big change for many given that the last two years, you could do grab & go. We are strictly prohibited from allowing participants to take perishable food offsite. We hope you'll understand and stay to enjoy your lunch. We will offer some kind of enrichment activities every day as well.
