Toy Fair was held a couple weeks ago in New York and Round 2's booth showcased upcoming releases and some new products. Most of these were expected to arrive this summer and we have the set up for preorder in the CultTVman Hobbyshop. Our thanks to Round 2 for these images.

The most exciting news was the announcement and display of a 1:32 scale TIE Interceptor. This kit is a variation on the TIE Fighter from a couple years ago, that uses the main body of the ship with new wing panels.

The upcoming ShadoMobile from Gerry Anderson's UFO was on display. This kit will feature a detailed cab, rubber treads and rolling wheels.

Also on display was Luke Skywalker's X-34 Landspeeder. This kit is molded in colored plastic, with decals for the stripes and damage. It is 1:12 scale.

The upcoming TIE Bomber was also shown. This 1:48 scale kit looks wonderful! That rounds out the new Star Wars products.

2026 is going to be a busy year for CultTVman! We're planning to attend more model shows than ever. Just ignore the fact that two years ago, I said I was cutting back. I'm busted. Looks like 11 shows lined up for 2026.

CultTVman's Hobbyshop attends a number of hobby events throughout the year. The most notable show we attend is Wonderfest and we plan our year around that event. It is the show you do not want to miss.

Our next event is Pelicon in Tampa on March 14, 2026

To find model shows in your area, I suggest you check the show calendar on the IPMS USA website. It lists the events hosted by various IPMS Chapters around the country. I also suggest Bucwheats show listing which includes Sci-Fi, Monster, and Anime conventions which may have some model hobby content.

CultTVman will be attending the following events. This list will continue to be updated as our schedule changes. Hope to see you at these shows.

Retro Rockets is a round up of model news and kit arrivals for the Sci-Fi and Monster communities. (How's that for a great lead in?)

2025 is winding down in 3 days, so we now look forward to 2026. Lets look at what is has just arrived. I didn't post a Retro Rockets in November because we were in a bit of "hurry up and wait" mode. Quite a few kits were supposed to arrive at the end of the year and then did not come. These have slipped to early 2026.

I'm going to save "the good, the bad, and the ugly" about 2025 for another post. Maybe.

We will be heading to the Chattanooga Model Con on January 9-10. Hope you can join us

for more info, visit the Chattanooga Model Con website

Atlantis Arrivals!

December has brought us a couple vintage reissues from Atlantis, and this is a good way to end the year. The Red Baron is a wonderful show car created by Tom Daniel. It was originally produced by Monogram back in 1968, and has been reissued multiple times since then.
