I am the retail whisperer

“Sunday reset, but make it cute ✨🛍️ These merchandising tips are your new weekly ritual.”
1-bin products to break up rows of lined up and stacked products
2-get creative with your binning vessel. I love vintage baking molds and sifters.
3- the back of the display is as important as the front. Make sure to turn labels around so the back reads like the front.
Xo,
Michelle

Opening statements are supposed to be your big impact moments ✨however, if you look closely, you will see the smaller more quiet moments of the display. The small shell spoons called out on a tree slice giving them a highlight moment, the collection of white raised up on a metal cake stand or the contrast of white pieces with the darker pieces and how they merchandise seamlessly together.
Sometimes it’s the more quiet moments that are the most important✨

Did you know dropping a pendant light low over a tabletop display brings attention directly to what’s below? No, it’s not how you would hang lighting in your home. These low hanging lights are meant to be part of the display and are meant to draw attention to what’s below 💡💡💡💡

The art of storytelling by merchandising items that create add on sales.. Dipping bowls and olive oil, tomato candles 🍅 and pasta sauce, butter candles 🧈, jam 🍓and cookbooks. The combinations are endless.

Why am I so passionate about not using plastic risers? Most of the time it’s all you see. Yes, it’s rising the item but 9 times out of 10, it’s too big or it’s not hidden and it’s out in plain sight where it actually looks and feels like you’re selling it because it’s so focal.
Think of your risers as another layer of storytelling. Think big sourdough loaves for bread themed plush, canned tomatoes for tabletop displays, slices of wood for garden displays and stacked cases of Diet Coke for those cute Diet Coke minis. They don’t need to be expensive but they do need to be creative.
If you use plastic risers, I challenge you to look at your displays, how many risers do you see in plain sight?
Let me know in the comments what you see!

I love creating micro shops within spaces. At we had all of these amazing headbands and I wanted to create an accessory shop with a Coco Channel feeling. Coco tee (obvi) jewelry with pearls, headbands with jewelry like details and one scent from to tie it all together.
Mind you, because this statement is small, this isn’t every hair accessory, this is curated and purposefully kept to a handful of styles to keep it cohesive.

Effective displays don’t need to be expensive or hard to create. One of my favorite displays for was for the Movie Night 🎥snacks section. The popcorn 🍿and popcorn kits were the star of the show so it was a natural fit. Inexpensive popcorn boxes strung on twine hung above the display. That’s it.
Want to take it to the next level? Use cord kits from Ikea and turn them into pendant lights💡
Now that’s genius 🍿💡🍿💡🍿💡
