One great thing about fishing is that for most of us, when we are on the water fishing, even If we don’t catch a fish, we still enjoy the day on the water simply by appreciating the beauty of nature, the comradery of family and friends, and the peace and solitude of being on the water.
However, I think most of you would agree that any day spent fishing is greatly enhanced by successfully catching some fish. The more fish, and the larger the fish, the better.
Fishing Strategies and Tactics™ (www.fishingstrategiesandtactics.com) is dedicated to helping anglers of all types and skill levels increase their angling experience and catch rate for whatever type of gamefish they pursue, and on whatever types of waters they fish.
Nearly sixty years ago I caught my first fish, a catfish from a city pond in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania at the age of three. I was “hooked” from that humble beginning, and over the past fifty-nine years or so I have been fortunate enough to have put thousands of days on the water pursuing many different species of fish in many different places around the world.
While I have taken many guided “exotic” trips to remote lands pursuing many different and some exotic species, most of my days on the water have been spent fishing on my own for warm, cool, and cold water species in natural lakes, reservoirs, creeks, rivers, streams and inshore coastal situations in our great United States.
Over time, I noticed that at a fundamental level, the information or factors I used to develop my daily and seasonal fishing strategy, the types of areas and situations where I looked for and found fish, and how I went about presenting my offerings to the fish, were more similar than different, no matter where I was fishing and what species of fish I was targeting.
In other words, over the years I had developed in my mind a universal framework for fishing success that is applicable to virtually all fishing situations.
What Fishing Strategies and Tactics™ documents through its educational materials and Fishing Advisory Services is my universal “Framework for Fishing Success™.”
At the core of my Framework is an understanding of how gamefish live, their habits, their instincts, how weather and water conditions affect them, where they are likely to be found under various conditions, and what it takes to catch him.
The fact is that 10% of the anglers catch 90% of the fish. If you explore the reasons for this, you will find that the 10% of the anglers who catch most of the fish have invested the effort in understanding the species they target, the waters that they fish, and the presentation considerations that they must apply to catch them. Their success comes not by accident, but by knowledge and experience.
Whatever your current experience, skill level and success rate, if you embrace my Framework for Fishing Success™, and you take the time and effort to understand and absorb the information provided in my educational materials, and you successfully incorporate and apply my Framework into your fishing strategies and tactics:
• You will catch more and larger fish than ever before, whether fishing for your favorite species on your home water, or fishing for new species and/or new or less familiar waters.
• You will have a newfound confidence and ability to develop and execute successful fishing strategies and tactics.
• Your fishing experiences will be substantially enhanced and transformed.
• You will be well on your way to becoming a great angler, one of the 10% of anglers who catch 90% of the fish.
