Greyhounds are excellent long-distance runners and can keep a speed of 35 mph for up to 7 miles whereas cheetahs can only keep its speed for around 200 -300 yards!

Once your dog has mastered 'sit' it's time to teach them to lie down!

With your dog in a sitting position and a treat in your hand, move your hand from your dog's nose towards their chest then straight down towards the floor. Your dog should follow the treat into a lying-down position.

Praise and reward them with the treat immediately.

Cats like to feel well protected, especially when they intend to sleep, and cardboard cartons can be ideal for a secure nap. Why some seem to prefer too small boxes over just right ones is a mystery, though.

Did someone say walk? Dogs like walks because they're not naturally lazy, their genetic make-up demands physical exercise.

For them, it's the human equivalent of reading a good book or watching your favorite movie, and we would all indulge in either of those three times a day if given half a chance, which is why they are always so excited when you eve say the word walk!

Ahhh, yes...cats. They love you, but have a funny way of showing that they care. They naturally demonstrate their affection for those who feed, care for, and play with them, even if they don’t always make that obvious.

If you find your new cat is nervous, allow the cat to approach you rather than forcing yourself on the cat when you feel like it. When the cat does approach, reward it with a few treats and let it leave as soon as it wants to!

Getting your dog to sit down is some of the easiest commands to teach your dog, and can be done at any age!

Just stand in front of your dog with their treat, hold it near their nose, and lift it up and past their heads - this will get them to look up and sit naturally.

Once they sit, reward them and repeat!
