Some people don’t just SKATE through culture, they BUILD & ADVANCE it!
I wanted to take a moment to show appreciation and gratitude to a TRUE LEGEND of the Atlanta skate community: BABY. About 15 years ago, when I was about 10 years old, my mother bought me my very first pair of skates from the iconic Skate Escape in Piedmont Park. BABY was there, helping me try on my first pair of , and that moment became the beginning of a lifelong journey.
From Skate Escape to Cascade, to RollATL Skate Shop, and everywhere in between, BABY has been a pillar of this community for decades. He has always shown up 100% for the culture — whether it was quad skating, rollerblading, skateboarding, biking, or simply pouring knowledge, love, and encouragement into the next generation.
BABY didn’t just support skating. He uplifted people, created safe spaces, connected communities, and helped shape the Atlanta skate scene into what it is today. His impact is woven into the history, the energy, and the spirit of ATL skating.
This is for the leaders who move quietly but leave loud legacies.
This is for the ones who open doors, lace up dreams, and make sure the culture keeps rolling forward.
Much respect, love, and gratitude, thank you for everything, BABY. 🛼✊🏾
ATL skate history forever.
