I love doing this, it fills me with joy. I find it exciting and fascinating and I'm always learning and challenging myself to source more specific items or better pieces in one way or another. I have traveled hours to pick items up, spent hours and days discovering and securing pieces i want, paid for uhauls, learned new cleaning techniques to preserve the pieces and maintain the integrity of the aging materials, I've learned ways to restore pieces in some cases. It is truly a labor of love. Seeing other vintage lovers get excited about pieces or trusting me to find something specific they're looking for... People who love vintage understand!
Owning a vintage shop has been a dream I've spoken about over and over for years. Im so glad to have had this opportunity in an adorable storefront, in a quaint village. Being able to pursue my passion and share my interest with others who enjoy it too is a blessing.
In a world where fast fashion, virtual shopping and isolation are the norm, Im a rebel holding tightly to the ways of community and quality.
I hope others will hold tight to these goals and dreams too... its going to take a lot of people to save it in our fast moving society.
