Come see me at the festival and find your next great read. It’s the sweetest kind of match, and it pairs perfectly with a full heart (and maybe a little lingering ramp breath 😊).
Ramps! Ramps! Ramps!
It's time to start talking Ramps! A ramp dinner is a traditional Appalachian meal that celebrates ramps, a type of wild onion with a strong, garlicky flavor that grows in the eastern United States in early spring.🧄🧅🌱
These dinners are typically held in small towns and communities, often as fundraising events or social gatherings. Our ramps are even harvested from right here in our own park! At a ramp dinner, you'll find dishes featuring ramps as the star ingredient, along with other classic Appalachian comfort foods.⛰️
🍽 On the Menu:
-Park Ramps, Fried Potatoes & Scrambled Eggs with Ramps
-Soup Beans & Ham
-Salad with Sweet & Sour Dressing
-Chicken 'n Noodles
-Sausage Gravy & Biscuits
-Applesauce
-Ramp Wontons
-Deviled Eggs, Pickled Eggs & Homemade Bread
-Cakes & More!
💰 Dinner Prices:
$15 – Adult Meal
$5 – Ages 12 & Under
Because ramps are only available for a short time each year, ramp dinners are a highly anticipated spring tradition in many Appalachian communities! Which is why it is so popular. We look forward to serving guests from far and wide.
