A great team to work with: Osborn Barr Paramore, Missouri Humanities, and KMOV! Our television segment was fun.

Behind the scenes in the Creating Quilts studio, I now have the fabrics to create the quilts.

In the next week or so, I will begin cutting to begin construction. Which phase are you most interested in observing?

Last week, Missouri Humanities and quilter Kristen Edens were on KMOV in St. Louis to discuss the new “Stitched Together” campaign, a unique digital-to-physical fundraising initiative. The campaign supports programs that preserve local history, celebrate cultural heritage, promote literacy and bring people together through the humanities.

With every donation, you’re entered for a chance to win a real handcrafted throw-size quilt.

Many thanks to The Quilted Fox for hosting my class on "Valuing Grandma's Quilts"! The participants came with fabulous quilts, lots of interesting history, some with no history, and many great questions.
A fun day on Saturday!

Having a great class with Kristen Edens of Creating Quilts who is teaching Let’s Value Grandma’s Quilts. Kristen is discussing history, mysteries, dating and valuation). She began with a quilt story showing us how to look for history. Labels for future reference is so important.

One of the most exciting things about quilting is turning an idea, sketch, or pattern into something real.

Yesterday, with help and input from the wonderful quilt enthusiasts and supporters at Heyde Sewing Company in St. Louis, I selected fabrics and colors for a new quilt project for the Missouri Humanities organization and its current online quilt auction and fundraiser. This collaboration made me feel grateful for the supportive quilting community.

Choosing colors, designing, and selecting fabrics are vital steps that turn ideas into meaningful, beautiful, lasting quilts- an inspiring journey from concept to creation.

I am fortunate to work with fellow quilting enthusiasts who share my love for this craft. Here are some photos and videos capturing this meaningful part of our creative journey, which I hope inspires others to support the Missouri Humanities fundraiser and Heyde Sewing Company.

I had a fantastic time appearing on KMOV, Channel 4, for the "My St. Louis Live!" segment with host Meghan Drakas.

I joined Missouri Humanities' Caitlin Yager to discuss its ongoing quilt auction, which raises money to support Missouri Humanities' work and mission: "to enrich lives and strengthen communities by connecting Missourians with the people, places, and ideas that shape our state." You can support this cause by participating in the online auction or sharing it with friends-every bit helps Missouri Humanities continue its important work.

Thank you to the team at Osborn Barr Paramore, Missouri Humanities, KMOV, and the folks at "My St. Louis Live" for making this happen. Appearing on this platform helps raise awareness about Missouri Humanities' mission, and I am so excited to have been chosen to help this organization do more great work. Your support can make a real difference in our community.

Here are some photos from our exciting day—more to come, including a behind-the-scenes video of today's segment. Stay tuned for details on how you can participate in the quilt auction and support Missouri Humanities' efforts to enrich lives across Missouri.

This week's quilt project is for an upcoming baby shower. A good friend of the parents came to me with a quilt vision to combine the cultures of Ghana and Guatemala (the parents' birth places).

Together, we visited a quilt shop - always fun! Then she chose the fabric combinations for each block. Once sewn together, the customer played with the design wall to create the quilt top. The flags for the back were my idea and a lot of fun to make!

Lots of vivid colors!
