The Stavros 🌿✨

My last intentional sip of alcohol was on the island of Poros, Greece — and it will always hold a very special place in my heart.

So when I saw make this drink, I knew I had to bring it home in my own way.

Meet the Stavros — a recipe@from made NA, and honestly? She’s perfect.

The recipe:
4 oz non-alcoholic still rosé
½–1 oz non-alcoholic elderflower liqueur
Juice of ÂĽ lime
Top with club soda
Garnish with a sprig of rosemary

It’s also National Rosé Day and we are celebrating! We’ll be sampling still rosé and a Sauvignon Blanc from in the shop today.

I snuck away for a few days to recharge by the ocean. There’s something about the salt air and the breeze that just resets me.

But here’s what I kept thinking about on the way home.

At an all-inclusive resort where abundance is the whole point — the non-alcoholic options were juice or soda. That’s it. And more than once, I was asked if I was sure I didn’t want something stronger.

It was a good reminder of why we do what we do.

There are a hundred reasons someone might not be drinking, and none of them are anyone else’s business. And here’s the thing, it might not even be you. It might be someone at your table or someone you love who you want to feel as taken care of as everyone else in the room. Having great non-alcoholic options is how you show up for them.

What is our business, literally, is making sure that when you’re ready to celebrate, unwind, or just enjoy a beautiful glass of something, you have real options. Craft options. Options that feel intentional and considered, not like an afterthought.

The world is catching up, but it’s not there yet. That gap is exactly why Wallace Dry Goods exists.

Holiday weekends can be tricky for me.

I love the unofficial start of summer, longer days that turn into nights with friends and family, and a cold drink at the pool or by the ocean. But mixed in with the fun and excitement sometimes come the what ifs, the missing out, the feelings of less than.

Those feelings are part of why I opened Wallace Dry Goods. Not to make them disappear (if you’ve figured out that secret, please share), but to put some tools on the shelf for navigating them. I’m all for choices in how and what you drink, but I also want to acknowledge that the choice isn’t always an easy one.

So whether you’re hosting this weekend and want every guest to feel taken care of, or you’re stocking your emotional support cooler, make sure it has what works for you in it.

A few things that might help: our fridge is full of beer and cider for any mix-six you want to build (10% off all weekend), and the shelves are stocked with spirits and aperitifs for the pitcher you’ve been meaning to make (10% off when paired with a mixer).

We’ll be pouring a different spirit-and-mixer pairing on the bar today through Sunday. Come say hi.
