"Old and New"

The Bandana Bear I usually show is the one who's been around Outside School a long time. Too harried to wash it by hand, as advised, I'd throw them in the wash time and again. After being coated in sand, riding on dogs, climbing trees, falling in Wildcat Creek, and receiving more than their fair share of foxtails, Bandana Bear is still going strong, though pretty scruffy, and we love them just the same. The new Bandana Bears I send out are softer and fluffier. Both are cute in their own ways.

Have I been overly naive in presenting Bandana Bear in their true adventure form? Should I be posting photos of the new ones, so people have a better representation of what will actually come in the box? Please share your thoughts!

"Chase each other!"

Bandana Bear's adventure game can be played innumerable ways, all of them fun! One student loved the action created every time we landed on the "Chase each other!" field in the Grassy Area SO much, that we devised a scheme whereby no matter how we played the game otherwise, each player HAD to land on "Chase each other!", and then we would chase each other around!

*raucous laughter and delightful kid-screams*

Bandana Bear and I had so much fun out on San Francisco Bay last weekend! I was an EMT aboard the San Francisco Belle, which used to be a riverboat, and we were happy to take in all the scenes. It couldn't have been a more gorgeous day, and we even saw dolphins between us and Alcatraz. We totally appreciate that Canada helped save the day by providing the air show since the Blue Angels were grounded this year.

"Life Imitates Art Imitates Life"

At Outside School summer camp we were playing the Bandana Bear game, and the bat game piece actually caught an insect! It's truly the most unexpected, surprising game I've ever played, each and every time.

Summer Camp at Outside School is coming up!

For school-age kids (K - 12) in beautiful Wildcat Canyon Regional Park- easy to reach off I-80, The Arlington, and San Pablo Dam Road.

-Monday through Friday

-9:00 - 3:00

Week 1: July 7 - 11, 2025 (last day to apply: 6/30/25)

Week 2: July 14 - 18, 2025 (last day to apply: 7/7/25)

Week 3: July 21 - 25, 2025 (last day to apply: 7/14/25)

Week 4: July 28 - August 1, 2025 (last day to apply: 7/21/25)

$400/week

They historically varied from orange in Southern California to yellow in Northern California. Bandana Bear discovered a mid-range variety on a recent trip to Pescadero. What a scientific sleuth you are, Bandana Bear!
