In February 2020, I landed in Addison, Michigan to build a W**d Shop with some friends.
I soon realized that this tiny rural town was also the Northern starting point for the 127 Yard Sale, the “World’s Longest Yard Sale” that I heard stories from my sister after going on a girl’s trip in Ohio to shop some of it.
A couple years after that, I saw a few episodes of an HGTV series based around it. It was Huge!
When 2020’s 127 weekend finally came around there was no big event marking the start of it in Addison, no fanfare, not even a sign. I only found 3 yard sales happening around town.
A complete disappointment.
I assumed that Covid had a lot to do with it but when August of 2021 rolled around and still only a few sales and no hype of Addison being the starting point of this Major Event.
So I said “Screw This….
If they don’t want to do it, I will”.
I got in touch with the organizers and told them I want to create something special up here and they said “Go for it”
And that folks, is how I commandeered the Northern Start of the the World’s Longest Yard Sale and began to grow it back to where it always should have been.
Our 1st year at it, along with our good friend we brought together 5 vendors and a food truck.
The next year, 27 vendors and 3 food trucks.
Our 3rd year of hosting the start we were joined by 35 vendors and 5 food trucks
This upcoming 127 Sale we have a smorgasbord or incredible vendors of all kinds, food trucks, live music and more!
Year by year, Season by Season we continue to grow not just in our 127 Yard Sale event but with several other great events during Michigan’s summer months.
