In 2016, “The Guardian” ranked Uganda as the World’s most entrepreneurial country. According to the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM), 28% of adults own or co-own a new business. Many of you in this group fall under this category and I would like to congratulate you on taking that leap to start your own business. However with that being said, it is also stated that although many businesses are started every year, only a small fraction of them survive in the long run and those that do survive remain low scale businesses. One of the reasons this is happening is failure to adapt to the way running businesses has changed compared to how this was done 10 years ago. While many of our businesses continue to run based on traditional ways, i.e. marketing through TV, Radio, Newspaper, Magazines, flyers and while making payments is still predominantly done by cash, the fast world is now using business methods “With unfamiliar terms to us” like E-commerce, PayPal, SEO, SEM, PPC, Social media marketing and management, Email Marketing etc. Although these terms sound complex and give a false impression of being extremely expensive compared to traditional business methods, the opposite is true. What these terms can be summed up as is “Digital Marketing”, a term we should all embrace quickly if we harbor a dream of our businesses succeeding and going across borders. Digital Marketing is the future because of its cost effectiveness, measurability of your business goals, reaching specific target clients, better lead generation and so much more. All the benefits and information cannot be provided here but these services are now available in Uganda and if you are interested in obtaining more information on the services please inbox your contact details and you shall be contacted. Digital marketing is targeted at placing your business on a different path in the 2017.
