Catfish have over 27,000 taste buds spread across their entire body. That's why they're such skilled hunters in murky water — they literally taste their surroundings.

Some catfish can also “walk” on land for short distances. Species like the "Walking Catfish" use their fins and wriggling bodies to move between ponds, especially after rain or when water conditions get bad.

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our dear Rasti, our beloved grandpa, father and a husband.

Rasti was the one who ignited a true passion in us to start out LakeFinity project and “infected” us and our kids with remarkable world of fish.

Rasti was an extraordinary person — a gifted illustrator, passionate fisherman, and a true lover of the sea and lakes. His creativity knew no bounds, from oil painting and digital art to photography that captured the beauty of the world as he saw it.

He didn’t just share his passions — he passed them on. He taught us how to truly see — the shimmer of scales, the movement of water, a beautiful colorful dragonfly that sat on a leaf by the remote pond – you know, the quiet details others might miss.

With patience and joy, he showed us how to bring that beauty to life on paper, and later, how to transform it through digital art, blending tradition with modern creativity.

Whether teaching us how to draw the perfect curve of a fin, sharing his knowledge of fishing, or taking us on unforgettable sea trips, Rasti inspired curiosity, respect for nature, and a lifelong passion that we will carry forward.

He was always ready to help anyone in need and lived a life full of kindness, generosity, and purpose. His legacy lives on through the art he created, the knowledge he shared, and the love he gave so freely.

We always listened to his anecdotes from his crazy youth—like the time he went watermelon “bow hunting” off a hay barn, targeting a street seller stand stationed just below and the same seller trying to hunt the kids down.

And then there was the Yugoslav National Army Navy boat picking him up off Brioni, where he had been vacationing with his family, to attend catering for President Tito. Tito even gave him two Cuban ci**rs for his service. He had stories about former Ethiopian emperor Haile Selassie, Italian president Pertini, and even about having a conversation with Sean Connery at the Golf Hotel in Bled… and we could go on and on.

Sadly, we won’t be able to hear those stories again. Rasti, we will miss you dearly.🖤

This one is 10/10 and also last on the list of our rare cards in Starter Packs! It is very elusive card, indeed. Want to know more about this legendary fish? Fish on, err sorry Read on!

Ancient, fierce, and still ruling freshwater. Meet the bowfin, a living fossil that has been around since before the dinosaurs went extinct. With a snake-like body, powerful jaws, and the ability to breathe air, this fish is one of nature’s most impressive survivors. It is not your average catch, but rather a glimpse into prehistoric life still thriving today.

The bowfin, scientifically known as Amia calva, is the only surviving member of the Amiidae family. It inhabits slow-moving freshwater environments such as swamps, lakes, and backwaters across eastern North America. As a carnivorous species, it feeds on fish, amphibians, insects, and crustaceans. One of its most remarkable biological traits is its ability to use both gills and a lung-like swim bladder for respiration, allowing it to survive in oxygen-poor waters.

This species is often referred to as a living fossil, with a lineage dating back over 150 million years. Its ability to breathe air gives it a significant advantage in harsh environments where other fish cannot survive. The bowfin is an ambush predator equipped with sharp teeth and strong jaws, making it highly effective at capturing prey. Its body retains many primitive characteristics, offering insight into early ray-finned fishes. Thick scales and a protective slime coating help shield it from parasites and injury. Reproduction also reveals interesting behavior, as males guard the eggs and continue protecting the young after they hatch. It is sometimes called mudfish or dogfish, although it is not related to sharks.
