We like to do strange things just to add a little fun to our lives. And one of these strange things is our crazy attempt to grow lotus plants in our tiny fish tank! 😜 So far, so good, actually. The lotus leaves seem healthy enough even though they only receive a few hours of direct sunlight each day; and the greedy sword-koi fish who lives in the tank didn't munchy-munch on the leaves.

Hopefully we'll be able to see some lotus flowers in a few months time! We will surely update with new photos if that happens. 🪷🪷🪷

We heard somewhere that if an item in our home has not been touched for 1 year, then we should strongly consider getting rid of it.

Of course, this is not an excuse for any of us to buy new things to replace the thrown-away items, ok? 😆😅

Have you ever seen such a gigantic dew drop? Somehow all the moisture in the air decided to gather together (illegal gathering? 😜) to form this giant huge drop of water, which we found on our banana leaf plant in the morning.

For a moment, we wanted to put the dew drop in our mouth to see how it tastes like. 😆 After all, how often does one get the chance to literally taste the fresh morning air? But we decided against it in the end... scared of food poisoning. 🤭

About a week ago, we cut our plants botak. Now new shoots are starting to appear, and it's a beautiful sight to behold! 🌱🪴☘️ Every morning when we wake up, we notice that new leaves have appeared and the old leaves have grown bigger - it is very therapeutic. 😌

Plant growth is slow and steady, which is the opposite of our fast-paced lifestyle. Surely we can learn a thing or two from the plants, and try to slow down our pace of life to enjoy the little blessings in life which we often take for granted. 🙂

One of the best smells in the world is none other than the smell of freshly baked bread! 🍞 It's one of those simple joys in life which I would strongly recommend you experience. If you have an oven at home, and basic ingredients such as yeast, flour, sugar, salt and water, you're all set! 😎👍 (you can PM us for a super easy recipe)

💥 Fun fact: It's only possible to get this bread smell at 🏠 home, because the smell only lasts for a short while during the final minutes of baking and disappears shortly after you remove the bread from the oven. It is not possible to cheat and get this bread smell from a bakery, because the bread smell will be mixed with all kinds of other smells and become overpowering.

Simple joys in life! Mmm. 😌😌😌

This is Maiko, our solar-powered bobbing and dancing star. We got her 10 years ago on our honeymoon to Japan, and we enjoy how she graces us with her bubbly dance moves whenever the sun comes out. 😉

✅ It's nice to have some movement in the house - just a little bit to keep the home lively. If you feel that your home is a tad dull, you can get yourself one of these solar-powered figurines. Pretty therapeutic, really. Good for the mind, body and soul. 😌 And also eco-friendly because they don't need to batteries or electricity.

Our parish got featured on the front page of the most recent issue of CatholicNews.SG! 🥳 We are grateful that we could participate in the recently-concluded eco fair, which was one of the activities of the Season of Creation.

Another piece of good news: In total, the eco-fair managed to raise a total of S$1,437,85 for the parish's social mission fund, which will go towards mission work. 👍👍👍 Thank you all for dropping by the fair. We couldn't have done it without your support.

Hand-in-hand, our little green steps will make a difference. Let's strive on in hope and faith! 🙏🏼

What do we do with all our receipts and used pieces of paper? We shred them, and use the shredded pieces as packing filling for our products, which then get shipped out to you. 🙂 Nothing goes to waste in our house. 🗑️

✅ Unrelated tip: If you intend to keep your receipts for proof of purchase, make sure to take photos before storing them. That's because the ink on receipts fade off after a few months!

✅ Related tip: If you'd like to shred paper for packing purposes, get a shredder with a strip-cut and not a cross-cut! Strip-cut shredders are cheaper too - we bought ours for around $50.

The most recent freebie we got from a very kind user on OLIO - Share More, Waste Less! Great timing for us, as we wanted to find a new space for our little fish. Previously, we kept fishy together with our lotus plants, but fishy kept eating up all the young lotus leaves before they could grow bigger. 😫

So now both fishy and the lotus plants are happy! All thanks to Olio - which is a really great app to giveaway and collect free things. Go download it if you haven't, and give our items a second lease of life! 👍

Snip snip! Our house plants just got a haircut! ✂️✂️✂️ Cutting off all the leaves may come as a shock to you - why remove all the beautiful and healthy leaves, right? Well, the reason we did that was to promote even healthier plant growth.

🤔 And isn't that the same in our own lives? Every now and then, we need to cut ourselves off from certain habits, lifestyles, attachments and people, so that we can move forward in life in a better way. It takes effort to do so, and the process is sometimes painful, but the end result is always worth it.
